OBJECTIVES
The workshop is an Introduction to the conceptual and practical world of lightweight structures with the end goal of having the students develop their own lightweight-structural model that solves a real-world problem. They will gain an understanding of the behaviors of these complex structures using both physical models and software.
Comprehensive training in the areas of tensile, deployable, tensegrity, tree-form, and reciprocal buildings and structures.
Enable students to develop the skills to design an architectural proposal for a small, tensile structure such as a tent, shade, and/or a pavilion structure.
