The purpose of this workshop is training and teaching students in non conventional structures area. The research group SMiA Structural Morphology in Architecture performed a practical and theoretical workshop designed to learn unconventional structures in architecture. The main objective was to propose a practical teaching method, the students gain the necessary tools to design lightweight and membrane structures developing a prototypes. They will gain an understanding of the behaviours of these complex structures using both physical models and software.

The students can explore different spatial configurations that can be achieved from the study of the basic geometric units, create new generate new groupings and variations through repetition.

El objetivo del taller es capacitar y enseñar a los estudiantes en el área de estructuras no convencionales. El grupo de investigación SMiA Structural Morphology in Architecture realiza un taller práctico y teórico diseñado para aprender estructuras no convencionales en la arquitectura. El objetivo principal es proponer un método de enseñanza práctica, los estudiantes obtienen las herramientas necesarias para diseñar estructuras ligeras y tensadas desarrollando diferentes prototipos. También comprenderán el comportamiento de estas complejas estructuras utilizando tanto modelos físicos como software.

Los estudiantes pueden explorar diferentes configuraciones espaciales que se pueden lograr a partir del estudio de las unidades geométricas básicas, crear nuevas agrupaciones y variaciones a través de la repetición.
